The Record Book in Narinig Mo Ba: What Is Known
Near the end of Narinig Mo Ba, a neighbour asks you to keep her paluwagan record book and not to open it. Many players then ask what happens if they never do. The honest answer: the Narinig Mo Ba files indicate what opening the book does, but not what leaving it closed does, and no recorded playthrough of this build has settled it. This guide separates evidence from guesses and shows you how to test it.
Story spoilers on this page stay inside closed “Story spoilers ahead” panels. The title, summary and headings are spoiler-free.
Spoiler boundary
Outside the closed blocks, this guide repeats only what the spoiler-free guides already say: on Day 6 of Narinig Mo Ba, Lucia, the neighbour who calls you Mare, asks you to keep her paluwagan record book and not to open it. Everything around that request sits inside blocks with neutral titles.
The evidence is a static review of the Narinig Mo Ba build on this site (b_67742981ff37). Its story files were read in full; its scripts were decoded for names and constants, not rebuilt into readable logic. That shows what the files contain, not what every action does in play, and nobody has yet recorded a full run of this build.

The book in the story
In everyday Filipino usage, a paluwagan is an informal rotating savings group: members pay in a fixed amount at regular intervals, and each takes a turn receiving the whole pot. That is general background, not something the game files explain. What matters here is simple: a "paluwagan book" is a record of other people's money.
In Narinig Mo Ba, Lucia visits on Days 1, 3, 5 and 6, bringing neighbourhood gossip and, on Day 3, a big order for a small payday celebration.
Story spoilers ahead Lucia's exact request
Lucia comes at night as the last visitor of Day 6, right after Jomar tells you who was found by the canal. She says: "I need you to keep this record book for me… Don't tell anyone, alright?" She explains that she has to leave town and that the book "stores all my paluwagan records", adding: "I wouldn't want it to get into the wrong hands…" Her last words are "Please don't open it." At the end of her visit, the book is placed on your counter.
Opening versus refusing
The story files give you no way to turn the book down in conversation: every reply offered to Lucia's favour agrees to it, and as elsewhere in those files, the reply changes your words, not the events that follow. The real decision comes afterwards, when the book sits on the counter and you choose whether to click it.
Story spoilers ahead What opening the book does
The scripts indicate that clicking the book opens its page and then loads the ending scene. That reading rests on three script names that link the book to the ending: CustomDroppedPaluwagan → PaluwaganUI → EndingCutscene. In that scene Lucia returns: "I told you not to open it." The ending guide (spoilers) covers what follows.
What the files show
The export is the packaged web version of Narinig Mo Ba that this site runs. A static reading of it can show what the files contain; it cannot show every way the game behaves in play.
Story spoilers ahead What the files contain
- Lucia's request, word for word, and replies that all accept it (story files).
- The book being placed on the counter at the end of her visit (story files).
- Script names linking a click on the book to its page and then to the ending scene (scripts, not decompiled).
- A single ending file with no reply-dependent branch; the scripts indicate that the credits then roll and the game returns to the main menu.
What the files do not show
- What happens if the book is never clicked, or is clicked only after a long wait.
- Whether anything on that final evening is timed.
- How the game's scripts behave on every browser and device. Behaviour was inferred from names and constants, not from decompiled logic or a recorded run.
One more fact shapes any test: the build's scripts contain no save system. Refreshing, closing the tab or restarting returns you to the main menu, and START begins again at Day 1, so every attempt is a full run.
How to verify a route
A route only counts when someone can show it on a stated build. Use this method and keep the recording.
- Note your setup. Write down the date, your browser, your device, where you played and the build this guide was checked against: b_67742981ff37.
- Record from the start. Begin a screen recording with sound before you press START, then play all six days of Narinig Mo Ba in one sitting.
- Serve Day 6 as usual. Answer every visitor and hand over each order.
- Leave the book alone. When the book appears on the counter, do not click, tap or hold it. Do not refresh or restart.
- Wait a fixed time. Keep the tab visible for at least ten minutes, because browsers can slow down pages in background tabs. Ten minutes is only a practical test length: a quiet ten minutes shows what happened in that run, not that nothing could happen later. Look around with W A S D or the arrow keys (on touch, swipe or use the on-screen arrows), avoiding the book.
- Log what happens. Note each event with its time: nothing, a new line, a different scene or a freeze.
- Compare. Finally, click the book and record what follows.
If Narinig Mo Ba freezes, report a freeze, not a new ending. Share the date, build, device and video together; without them, a different result is only a claim. One recorded run is also only one run: repeat it, ideally on another device, before treating a result as settled.
Ending discussion
For the final scene and what the files show about it, read the ending guide (spoilers). Lucia's earlier visits are covered in Mare and Lucia (spoilers). Ready to run the test yourself? Open the player and start from Day 1.
How we checked this
Read the Day 6 story files and the ending file of build b_67742981ff37, plus the script names that link the record book to the ending. Not checked: a playthrough in which the book is never opened.
- Static review of the browser build hosted on this site (dialogue, item data, input map and scripts) (checked 24 September 2026)
