How to Play Narinig Mo Ba: Your First Shift

Narinig Mo Ba is played one customer at a time. In a typical visit, the customer pays first, shows a picture list of what they need and waits while you fetch it from around the shop. Hand it all over, return any change and move on. This guide follows a visit from the "DAY 1" card to the cash drawer, based on the Narinig Mo Ba build on this site and a test run.

Listen first

The first thing Narinig Mo Ba asks of you is to listen. After Play now loads the game, press START on its main menu. The scripts reset the day counter, so a new game starts at Day 1; in our browser run a "DAY 1" card appeared, then Junjun at the serving window. On Day 1, a tip across the window reads: "Left Click: Take/drop items, Left Click (HOLD): Return items, Right Click: Check price".

In our run, every speech bubble ended with "click to proceed ▼": click it to continue. A paying visit then has three steps, in our test run and in the story files:

  1. The customer's money appears on the counter as coins and notes.
  2. The bubble switches to "I need:" with item pictures and × quantity.
  3. Once every item is handed over, you give any change.

Follow the pictures and quantities, not only the spoken line. On Day 4, Rayder asks for "a bottle" of water, yet his list shows two bottled waters, ₱40 in total.

Find the item

Narinig Mo Ba spreads its stock across five views, and the front view has painted signs pointing the way: "sachets ↑", "← shelf", "counter ↓" and "fridge →". Junjun wants one coffee stick, so start by looking up.

View What you will find
Front Serving window, candy jar, napkins, single cigarettes
Up: sachets Coffee, chocolate drink, iced tea, shampoo, bleach
Left: shelf Canned goods, chips, noodles, biscuits
Down: counter Cash drawer and calculator
Right: fridge Drinks, bottled water, ice and eggs behind top and bottom doors

On a computer, press W A S D to move between views as the signs show. Narinig Mo Ba also accepts the arrow keys and pans when the pointer reaches the edge of the view; some players found that disorienting, so the keys may feel steadier. On a touchscreen, swipe, or switch to on-screen arrow buttons in Settings (the gear icon).

Every price is in pesos, and the brands are parodies. Right-click to check one, as the Day 1 tip says.

Serve the order

Take Lucia, the second visitor on Day 1. Her list shows two "Manok na Manok" noodle soups at ₱9 each and one Kornbep corned beef at ₱40, all on the shelf to the left: ₱58 in total.

With a mouse

  • Hover over a product to see "Get item" and "HOLD – Return item".
  • Left-click to pick it up; it follows the pointer.
  • Click the same product again while holding it to add another; the held item then shows "2x".
  • Drop it on the front counter, where customers are served.
  • Wrong item? Press and hold the left button on it, as the Day 1 tip says ("Left Click (HOLD): Return items"). Players describe a ring filling up for about half a second before it goes back.

With a touchscreen

  • Tap a product to put it in your hand slot, and tap it again to add one more.
  • A different product is refused while the slot is full: "Slot occupied by another item."
  • Press Serve to hand it over, or Return to put it back.

Handle change

The story files put change after the items: you return the amount paid minus the cost. When the payment is exact, there is no change step: in our test run, Junjun paid ₱10 with one coin, and dropping his coffee on the counter ended the visit at once. In the same run, Lucia laid down a ₱50 note and several coins for her ₱58 order. The cash drawer in the down view holds the coins and bills you give back, with a calculator beside it.

The guide to giving change covers the drawer, worked examples and change that will not go through.

Talk and continue

Replies appear as large dark buttons over a dimmed scene. They bring the neighbourhood to life, but in this build's story files they do not steer the story: each conversation is a fixed list of steps, so whichever reply you click, the next line and the order are the same. Tell Layla, a child sent to buy her father's beer on Day 1, that he should buy it himself, and she still needs the beer.

After the fourth visit, the next "DAY N" card appears. The story files list six days in all.

The build's scripts contain no save system: refreshing the page, closing the tab or quitting sends Narinig Mo Ba back to the main menu and Day 1. Escape does not close Narinig Mo Ba on this website; it only leaves the expanded view. The EXIT button on the game's main menu ends the session, and the site then offers to start again.

Need a hand?

While your shift runs, links on the game page open in a new tab, so a guide will not close the game. When you have read what you need, switch back to the tab where the game is running; opening the player again in another tab starts a fresh game from Day 1. If Narinig Mo Ba will not load, work through browser troubleshooting or the help page; on a phone, see the mobile guide. When you are ready to start, open the player.

How we checked this

Checked against the story, item, scene and input-map files of build b_67742981ff37, a desktop browser run of the first two Day 1 visits on 24 September 2026 and the developers' touchscreen update of 17 September 2026. The change step and the touchscreen controls have not yet been confirmed in play.

  • Static review of the browser build hosted on this site (dialogue, item data, input map and scripts) (checked 24 September 2026)

Browser & loading help

A failed check can come from the browser, device, driver or a managed setting. Choose your browser below.

Chrome could not start WebGL2. Update and relaunch Chrome, then check graphics acceleration if your desktop settings allow it.

  1. Open the menu, choose Help → About Google Chrome, install any update and select Relaunch.
  2. On a computer, open Settings → System and check that graphics acceleration is available. Relaunch after changing it.
  3. On Android, update Chrome and the system from their usual update screens instead.
  4. Do not force experimental flags. On a managed device the setting may belong to your administrator.

Update macOS, iOS or iPadOS to update Safari. If native fullscreen is unavailable, use the expanded view inside this page.

  1. Safari updates with the system: use Software Update on your Mac, iPhone or iPad.
  2. The game does not need any experimental Safari settings. If WebGL2 still fails, try an updated, supported device.
  3. On iPhone and iPad most browser apps use Safari’s engine (WebKit), so switching browsers there usually changes little. The WebGL2 check on this site is what counts.
  4. Where native fullscreen is not available, Fullscreen expands the player inside the page. Rotating is always your choice.

Update Firefox, review its Performance settings and restart. If WebGL2 still fails, try another supported device.

  1. Update Firefox, then open Settings and find the Performance section.
  2. Use the recommended performance settings, or review the hardware acceleration option if your system shows one. Restart after a change.
  3. Option names vary between versions and systems. Do not bypass the compatibility safeguards that block unstable graphics drivers.

Update Edge and restart it. On desktop, check graphics acceleration. A managed device may need help from its administrator.

  1. Open Settings and more → Help and feedback → About Microsoft Edge to install updates, then restart.
  2. On a computer, look under Settings → System and performance for graphics acceleration, then restart.
  3. An organisation can control this setting. Ask its administrator instead of trying to override the policy.

Opening help does not save or necessarily pause the game. Restarting may lose this session.
